Recent History

Patrick LeBlanc took over as Executive Director in the spring of 1998. He brought with him a vision to see the camp branch out into the community and provide some much needed resources for York County and Northern Maryland. The process of rebuilding and remodeling the camp was the first steppingstone to empower that vision.

1999 - Summit Grove incorporated as an independent nonprofit corporation with its own Board of Directors.

2001 - A low ropes adventure course was added.

2003 - Tim Brokopp came on board as Camp Director to assist the Executive Director and take over the programming of our summer camps.

2004 - A new 11,000 sq. ft. building has been completed. This buliding will hold 24 rooms, each containing its own private bath. One large meeting room, a kitchen, and an eating area will also be a part of the new lodge. This building will be winterized to allow the camp to provide services to the community year round. See the building in all phases of construction here.
