Tabernacle Times - Winter 2015/2016
Dear Summit Grove Family,
As we reflect on this past year and the amazing accomplishments God has brought forward through Summit Grove, we keep coming back to number 140. This number represents not only the number of years this camp has been set aside as Holy Ground for His glory, it also represents almost six generations of souls saved and lives impacted for His kingdom. This is a legacy to be proud of and testament to God’s protection over all of those years. We have a lot to be thankful for in 2015 and a lot to look forward to in 2016 and beyond. We would like to thank all of our faithful supporters over the years. Summit Grove could not operate without the donations of prayer, time, materials, and financial support.
If we had to choose one word to characterize 2015, the word would be growth. We saw an increase in numbers across the board, from the number of day camp children to the number attending service at Family Camp. God has placed many more people into the arms of our ministry. In just one weekend event, over thirty youth made a public decision for Christ, with six answering the call to a life of ministry. It truly was an amazing experience to see youth laying hands on and praying over their peers as they emotionally answered God’s call (see below).
May God continue to bless our families, our Christian brothers and sisters, and our community through the ministry of Summit Grove Camp.
A young person answers God's call into life of ministry as her peers pray over her.
Family Camp returns to Summit Grove under the theme “THRIVE -not just survive-” which is based on “I (Jesus) came that they may have life and have it to the full.” John 10:10. The week will open with a Saturday concert by Inspiration Country Music band True Heart and feature guest speaker Rev. Tim Meier, of the C&MA Envision ministry, beginning Sunday evening. Stay tuned as more information is released. It is sure to be another week to remember. Visit the Family Camp page for details.
We are a small camp with a small, staff but we can accomplish big things for the Lord through the help of our dedicated volunteers, friends and donors. Every year volunteers like SOWERS Glenn and Jane (photo), a men’s group from Fairlawn Church (photo), cottage owners and churches give of their time, efforts and resources to further the Lord’s work at camp. These partnerships have multiplied our efforts a hundredfold. If you would like to come alongside our ministry, please pray if you can help meet the following needs for 2016.
