Don Haynes
Interim Executive Director and Director of Operations
Don was called to ministry years ago and is doing exactly what he loves to do most. He grew up in Ankeny, Iowa. He and his wife Gin are married and have 9 children between them. He graduated from Clark Summit University with a BA in Biblical Studies and Camp Ministries. Don worked at John Deere for 21 yrs and served on the Board of Directors for his home church. Don comes with experience and has a strong capacity of handling responsibilities serving as Director of Facilities at two prominent camps in the NE. Don was part of a couple Wilderness teams that included kayaking and portaging waters in Algonquin Provincial Park, Ontario Canada. He is passionate about serving others, enjoys getting up early in the morning, and exploring the great outdoors. God matters and people matter to God.
Glen Myers
Facilities Director
Glen joined Summit Grove as Facility Director in the Spring of 2021. He began learning the construction trade from his grandfather while still in high school. Since then, he has many years of experience in the construction industry, including building, remodeling, cabinetry and furniture making, as well as owning his own small business for several years. Before coming to Summit Grove, he taught Building Trades at a school for at-risk young men.
Glen has been married to his high school sweetheart, Becky, for almost 30 years. They’ve spent many years homeschooling their six children and Glen has enjoyed being able to teach various homeschool classes and groups through the years. The Myers’ enjoy the outdoors in many ways, from gardening and animal care, to biking, hiking, and other activities.

Guest Services Manager &
Office Administrator
Gin joined Summit Grove in July 2025 as Office Administrator & Guest Services Manager. She has a BS in Healthcare Administration. Gin communicates findings and solutions to business processes here at Summit Grove. She was a Business Analyst overseeing the ER & Acute Trauma Centers at Unity Point Health, Des Moines IA. Upon relocating to the East Coast she worked for Geisinger Health Plan in High Risk OB. Gin enjoys making others feel welcome, sitting by a camp fire or collecting jingle shells at her favorite LINY beaches. Gin is from Long Island, NY she loves Jesus, her family and the ocean. She is married to Don and they have 9 children between them.
Fun facts: together Gin & Don adopted a baby in their fifties during Covid (unplanned/God planned) and she made Olympic Time Trials in Swimming back in the day!
Ellen Barnes
Housekeeping Team Lead
Ellen resides in Shrewsbury with her husband Bruce of 34 years and dog Tippy. She is one of the weekly intercessory prayer warriors that meet here at Summit Grove to pray for our community, nation, and the world. Ellen is anxiously awaiting the next move of the Holy Spirit to manifest on this Holy Ground.
